Children’s National Hospital celebrates Panda Cares Day with new Center of Hope

We are excited to recognize Panda Express’ commitment to Children’s National Hospital! Today marks an important day as we dedicate our Family Resource Center as the Panda Cares Center of Hope. This center will provide children with courage and hope to help them heal and thrive. Its programs and services will focus on the entire well-being of children including their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.

To celebrate, Panda Express is hosting a one-day virtual fundraiser on Saturday, August 8, which will benefit kids who are treated at Children’s National. Just place an order on the Panda Express mobile app or website using the promo code “PandaCaresDay” and Panda will donate 28 percent of online sales to help promote the health of young patients in the DC metro area.

Donations collected year round at local Panda Express locations have helped patients like Sophia.  When her mother was in her second trimester, Sophia was diagnosed with a severe heart defect.  After she was born, she was also diagnosed with Down syndrome. Throughout her life, Sophia has had two open-heart surgeries, a pacemaker implant, and multiple surgeries for ears, eyes, nose, and throat.  Now, she is 16 years old and is an incredible artist!  Her artwork is displayed throughout the hospital and her beautiful painting of a panda is featured in the Panda Cares Center of Hope.
