Dance Marathons Raise Over $2.8 Million, March 5-8

After a record-breaking fundraising year for the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement in 2019, with over 400 colleges, universities, and K-12 schools raising over $42.8 million for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the 2020 year is already off to a great start!

During the week of March 4-8, 28 colleges and independent high schools schools hosted their Dance Marathon events and collectively raised over $5.28 million #ForTheKids treated in their local communities!

Archbishop Carroll High School:

PatrioThon at Archbishop Carroll High School hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 6. The students fundraised over $44,000, a 19% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pa.

Augustana College:

Augustana College Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 6. The students fundraised over $7,000, benefitting the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Calvin University:

Calvin Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $30,409, an incredible 83% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Central College:

Central College Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $10,000, benefitting the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Claremont Colleges:

5C Dance Marathon, a joint organization uniting the five colleges that make up Claremont Colleges, hosted their inaugural Dance Marathon event on March 6. In their first year, the students fundraised over $13,700, benefitting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in Los Angeles, Calif.

Columbus State University:

CSU Cougarthon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 5. The students fundraised over $8,000, an 8% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Piedmont Columbus Regional in Columbus, Ga.

Florida State University:

Dance Marathon at Florida State University hosted their 25th annual Dance Marathon event on March 6-8. The students fundraised over $1.94 million, benefitting UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. and the FSU College of Medicine Pediatric Outreach Program.

Franklin College:

Franklin College Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 6-7. The students fundraised over $24,000, benefitting Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Ind.

Georgia Institute of Technology:

For The Kids at Georgia Tech hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $263,000, benefitting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, Ga.

Georgia Southern University:

Miracle at Georgia Southern University hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $23,000, a 69% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta, Ga.

Hamline University:

Hamline University Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students’ fundraising benefits Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minn.

Hope College:

Hope College Dance Marathon hosted their 21st annual Dance Marathon event on March 6-7. The students fundraised over $370,000, a 9% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich. This year’s total helped their organization surpass a total of $3 million raised for their hospital in their 21-year history.

Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis:

Jagathon at IUPUI hosted their 19th annual Dance Marathon event on March 7-8. The students fundraised over $607,000, the largest total in their 19-year history, benefitting Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Ind.

Kent State University:

KSU Flashathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $46,000, benefitting Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

Lincoln-Way East High School:

Lincoln-Way East High School (Frankfurt, Ill.) hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $14,000, benefitting Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Montana State University:

Montanathon at Montana State University hosted their second annual Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $32,000, a 5% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Shodair Children’s Hospital in Helena, Mont.

Parkway Central High School:

Parkway Central High School (Chesterfield, Mo.) hosted their inaugural Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $25,000, benefitting St. Louis Children’s Hospital and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Riverview High School:

Riverview High School (Sarasota, Fla.) hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 6. The students fundraised over $20,000, a 48% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Sacramento State University:

Hornet Dance Marathon at Sacramento State University hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $10,000, benefitting UC Davis Children’s Hospital in Sacramento, Calif.

Sewanee: The University of the South:

Sewanee Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $8,000, a 29% increase over their 2019 fundraising total, benefitting Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Simpson College:

Simpson College Stormathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised $15,000, benefitting the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Carleton W. Washburne School:

Washburne Skokie Dance Marathon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 6. The students fundraised for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

University of Maryland:

Terp Thon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $534,000, benefitting Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C.

University of Oklahoma:

Soonerthon hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised $1,033,102, a 15% increase over their 2019 fundraising total and the highest total in their organization’s history, benefitting the Children’s Hospital Foundation in Oklahoma City, Okla.

University of South Florida, St. Petersburg:

Dance Marathon at USFSP hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 4. The students fundraised over $2,700, benefitting Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.

University of Texas at Austin:

Texas THON hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 8. The students fundraised over $180,000, benefitting Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.

University of Wisconsin, Platteville:

Dance Marathon at UW-Platteville hosted their Dance Marathon event on March 7. The students fundraised over $5,700, benefitting Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisc.
